How do artists explore our present? How do they work and think? In the new Kunsthalle Wien Atelier, you have the opportunity to engage in dialogue with artists. Our workshop series for adults offers the opportunity to be inspired by artists, learn a variety of techniques and create your own works of art.

The artist Anna Darmstädter collects all the paper that falls into her hands or is pressed into them at the supermarket checkout, for example. She uses these pieces of paper to bind books. In this way, she sews together fragments of her everyday life – like a diary.

In the workshop, the participants will bind a notebook from scraps of paper. Equipped with rudimentary bookbinding equipment (reduced to needle and thread), the aim will be to gain an insight into the technique of bookbinding. The focus will be on experimentation: How can I quickly bind a notebook when I need one right now?
