With Jaya Klara Brekke, researcher and creative producer, Durham University
The Community College invites you to share your experiences and ideas on relationships with digital technologies and their consequences for our lives. We will introduce the program of the week, reflect on the exhibition, raise topics of interest and muse about related readings.
Together with researcher and creative producer Jaya Klara Brekke we will aim for a mapping of black boxes’ political geography and ask what is at stake when we want to understand “what matters politically” in decentralized network technologies, like blockchain.
Jaya Klara Brekke writes, speaks and does research on power in distributed systems. She spends her time between Durham University, Geography department, where she recently published her PhD on „Disassembling the Trust Machine. Three cuts on the political matter of blockchain“ and London where she spends much of her time with the InfoSec research group at UCL Computer sciences department and Vienna as collaborator of RIAT, Institute for Future Crypto-economics.
