With Mirela Baciak
I was in a territory where words were heavy and fragile at the same time, almost like mines that can either destroy everything or make space for a new construction… Even if one has a lot of experience, every time it is a matter of understanding methods, expectations, narratives and, above all, agreeing upon words, their meaning and value.
Chiara Bertola, Curare L‘arte
The aim of the workshop is to reflect on the conditions of togetherness by unfolding a number of contradictions, which come along while engaging in collaborative formats within and outside of the institutional framework. During the workshop ‘participants‘ will engage in a series of exercises and discuss the modes and characteristics of being together in various contexts: from a party to a museum and other institutionalized sites. The time spent together will be structured in five parts corresponding to the five figures introduced by Chiara Bertola in her text Curare L‘arte: the Weaver, the Interlocutor, the Traveler, the Narrator and the Subversive Figure.
The outcome of the workshop will take a form of a publication, which will further investigate what goes by the name of togetherness and develop strategies for dealing with the complicity of collaboration and competition in the capitalist context.
