Lecture by Maque Pereyra as part of the exhibition Darker, Lighter, Puffy, Flat.
Free admission.
The lecture will be held in English.
This lecture summons embodied knowledge and knowledge produced by the body. Not just one body, not just one form of knowledge. Through the lens of a Yoggaton-inspired context, we will ignite our imagination for an academia infused with the histories and practices of perreo, reggaeton, yoga, pleasure activism, and spiritual activism, guided by intersectional feminist perspectives from Abya Yala.
Maque Pereyra is a multidisciplinary artist who believes in the transformative power of pleasure. Her work fosters pleasure and spiritual practices where the body is the center and material. She blends choreography, DJing, music production, and audiovisuals, considering them as extensions of the performative body.
With the intention of creating a space dedicated to sharing her practices and embracing non-binary thinking, she founded Yoggaton. She is currently a co-curator of the EXPO Festival at the English Theatre Berlin and a fellow at the Leslie Lohman Museum of Art in New York.
