Boy Vereecken – Belgian designer and artist – created the new corporate identity of Kunsthalle Wien, using the grid of the 20th century collective, the Wiener Werkstätte. The collective`s credo at that time, was to overcome the ornamental aspects of Art Nouveau and to promote geometric austerity. Nowadays, this concept of reformed design, is no novelty anymore, therefore the question arises if the ideas of the Wiener Werkstätte still have any relevance in today`s world of design?
