Guided tour: From Loom to Software

Guided tour

Museumsquartier

Join a guided tour through the exhibition Radical Software: Women, Art & Computing 1960–1991 as part of the Wiener Linien Tag.

The loom as a symbol of manual and digital production is taken here as a starting point to show how women in the fields of art and technology laid the foundations for computer art. They utilised the digital technologies that were emerging at the time to create innovative works that were not only aesthetically, but also politically and socially relevant. This perspective reveals how female pioneers of computer art paved the way for today’s digital art and media landscape.

Admission and the guided tour is free with a valid Wiener Linien annual pass. The guided tour will be held in German.
