Together with Barbara Wagner (Gitarrist of “Britta”), Michaela Meise plays songs from her 2018 album Ich bin Griechin, a collection of Greek, French and Romanian chansons of the post-war era, which is a tribute to the album Je Suis Grecque by Melina Mercouri, who got deprived the Greek citizenship in the 1970s by the right-wing military junta, exiled like Mikis Theodorakis and others. All songs are sung in German translation and deal with loved ones, unemployment, war and awakening life spirits.

Michaela Meise (born 1976 in Hanau) is an artist and musician living and working in Berlin. Her work as a visual artist has been shown in recent years at Galerie Johann König, Berlin, Galerie Standard, Oslo, Random Gallery, Paris and Richard Telle’s Fine Art, Los Angeles.
