For 30 years Passagen Verlag has been committed to bring French thought to German-speaking regions. For this anniversary a special book is being released, which revives the founding ideas of the publishing house and discusses essential topics that have occupied Passagen Verlag since its foundation.

The publication Disrupt! takes the reader back to the 1980s, the flourishing period of “postmodern philosophy” in France and illustrates the very beginning of Passagen Verlag based on selected documents. As yet unpublished talks with Jacques Derrida, Jean-François Lyotard and numerous photos plus current articles from Alain Badiou, Jacques Rancière, and Hélène Cixous, grant the reader insights into the intellectual exchange, which is still enriching theoretical disputes with innovative approaches.

After the book presentation, journalist Joelle Stolz and publisher Peter Engelmann talk about Disrupt! and look back to the thirty-year long history of Passagen Verlag.
