The visual artist, cameraman and screenplay author Pierre Bismuth collaborated with the architect Nicolas Firket to create the installation The Grass Is Always Greener On The Other Side – New Vindobona in public space on the Karlsplatz. It’s a work that is intended to make people think about urban development and process of change within historically evolved major cities. Bismuth provides humorous and provocative impulses that, as one tries to understand what actually exists, gradually question all our normal assumptions. His artistic work examines the symbolism-rich worlds of everyday and popular culture as well as overlaps of fiction and reality, fake and truth.
Pierre Bismuth lives and works in Brussels and London. He gained international recognition when he was awarded the Oscar for the best original screenplay of the feature film Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind in 2005.
Nicolas Firket is an architect and the founder of NFA Nicolas Firket Architects, an architecture firm based in Brussels.
