How do artists explore our present? How do they work and think? In the new Kunsthalle Wien Atelier, you have the opportunity to engage in dialogue with artists. Our workshop series for adults offers the opportunity to be inspired by artists, learn a variety of techniques and create your own works of art.
In this workshop we will learn more about recording sound and creating loops. We will explore unusual sounds. Focusing on electronic music production, we will work with the layering of sounds that we create playfully and exploratively through improvisation. We will use audio snippets and upload them into the web-based music programme called ‘stable audio’ to generate songs. The workshop will be a combination of noise, glitchy sounds, experimental improvisation and utilising the samples to create AI music.
Participants will receive sound works that they can work on further. Please bring an instrument for sound production.
Mel E. Logan works at the interface of technology and art, edging into science. As producer and performer her projects are created collectively and in exchange by her groups VooCha, Chicks on Speed and most recently Psychoelestic Soundbathers. Mel E. Logan creates audio sculptures and performative installations that inspire reflection on the burning political issues of our time, offering a twist into a proactive approach as cracks to open possible solutions.
