Yoggaton is a movement practice, a bridge between Yoga and Reggaeton. In the Workshop, we will warm up the body with a combination of yoga postures, conscious breathing and perreo (a dance style to Reggaeton music). The idea is to connect with the sensuality, pleasure and divinity of the body without prejudice, allowing us to feel what this combination brings to the surface.

This practice works on a physical, emotional, mental and spiritual level. It is an intersectional methodology that includes decolonial strategies, intersectional feminism, spirituality, and perreo as tools for empowerment and creation of new narratives with and from the body.

The workshop takes place in context of the exhibition Darker, Lighter, Puffy, Flat.

Maque Pereyra is a multidisciplinary artist who believes in the transformative power of pleasure. Her work fosters pleasure and spiritual practices where the body is the center and material. She blends choreography, DJing, music production, and audiovisuals, considering them as extensions of the performative body.

With the intention of creating a space dedicated to sharing her practices and embracing non-binary thinking, she founded Yoggaton. She is currently a co-curator of the EXPO Festival at the English Theatre Berlin and a fellow at the Leslie Lohman Museum of Art in New York.
