The collective stitching workshop invites participants to gather around a hand-dyed textile to write, read, share and embroider the stories of the women in their families. Accompanied by reading and writing rituals, the workshop teaches tracing, drawing and embroidery techniques for textile work and opens the space for interpersonal and intergenerational histories to be stitched together across a landscape of memories and mournings. The workshop encourages participants to create a collective artwork. Works created by participants in the previous workshop may also be continued. Beginners and experienced embroiderers are welcome.
