Images Become Words
What happens when art is not merely viewed, but transformed into words?
In the inclusive writing workshops, organised by Ohrenschmaus in collaboration with Kunsthalle Wien, people with and without learning disabilities visited exhibitions and engaged with the artworks through writing. The result is a collection of poetic, surprising, humorous and personal texts about memories, feelings and the many stories that art can evoke within us.
At the reading on the MQ Summer Stage (main courtyard of the MuseumsQuartier), participants of the writing workshops will present a selection of the resulting texts. In between, Kunsthalle Wien and the Ohrenschmaus association will offer insights into their joint collaboration, which supports cultural participation and opens up new approaches to art and literature.
This event is for everyone who wants to hear art, experience literature and discover new perspectives.
Free admission.
Simple Language
What happens when people look at art and write about it?
People with and without learning disabilities visited exhibitions at Kunsthalle Wien together.
Afterwards, they wrote texts in the writing workshops.
This has resulted in many fascinating texts:
about memories, sounds, feelings and their own thoughts.
At the reading, we will read out some of these texts.
In addition, Kunsthalle Wien and the Ohrenschmaus association will talk about their collaboration.
Together, they are committed to increasing the participation of people with disabilities in art and culture.
We warmly invite everyone to attend.
Admission is free.
