Join artist and art historian Zsofi Valyi-Nagy for an interactive workshop exploring what it was like to program computer graphics before the Graphical User Interface (GUI) became commonplace. Using vintage computers and web-based emulators, you will learn to program your own graphics in the style of artist Vera Molnár using the programming language BASIC.

Vera Molnár (b. 1924, Budapest; d. 2023, Paris) was a pioneer of generative and computer art. From the late 1950s, Molnár employed simple algorithms to compose her abstract paintings and drawings, referring to her process as a machine imaginaire.
