QMA Artist Consultation
‘We have been running our programmes at the Kunsthalle Wien every month since the beginning of 2024 and are very happy about the ongoing cooperation. Together, we support artists who have recently moved to Vienna – for or more mutual support, the democratization of ‘insider knowledge’ and a flattening of hierarchies.’ (Statement by Smaranda Krings, Justina Špeirokaitė, QMA)
Smaranda Krings and Justina Špeirokaitė from the cultural initiative QUESTION ME & ANSWER (QMA) offer monthly group consultations at the Kunsthalle Wien Atelier for artists new to Vienna.
Artists who have not lived in Vienna for long often find it difficult to get the right information to resume their artistic activities here. For artists who have had to migrate to or seek refuge in Vienna, it can sometimes take a long time to find the right contact points to enable them to resume their creative process. QMA facilitates this network-building process and supports collaborations between artists who have been living in Vienna for a long time and those who have recently arrived.
QMA is happy to help artists get the information they need to continue their artistic work after having moved to Vienna.
They can advise you on the following topics:
- funding for artistic production
- social security and taxes for artists
- cultural institutions in Vienna and direct contacts
- art spaces in Vienna where you could exhibit
- where to get specific materials
The consultation is aimed for artists new to Vienna who need support in navigating the scene and finding the right information.
We also welcome parents with babies and/or toddlers between the ages of 1 and 4. A baby corner with mats, toys, bottle warmer, etc. is provided for the little ones.
The consultation is for free and no appointment is required.
