TUForMath x Kunsthalle Wien

In cooperation with TUForMath, Kunsthalle Wien offers free mathematical art talks for school classes in 10th grade and above (ages 15 and up). How much mathematics does contemporary art contain? How much art can be found in mathematics?

Together with mathematics professors Michael Drmota and Dirk Praetorius, as well as the Kunsthalle Wien’s education team, students will explore the intersections of art and mathematics. Right in front of the works in the current exhibitions, we’ll trace interdisciplinary connections and discuss where abstract mathematical thinking and artistic practice overlap. This interactive format opens up new, unexpected perspectives on the artworks and brings both disciplines into a lively dialogue. We warmly invite school classes to discover art and science together in our exhibitions.
