Wiener Töchtertag 2025
As part of Wiener Töchtertag 2025, students were given exciting insights into the behind-the-scenes workings of Kunsthalle Wien. Together, we explored questions such as: How is an exhibition created? What professions are needed to make an exhibition happen? Who selects the artworks – and how do they actually make their way into the exhibition space?
During an exclusive guided tour, participants were not only able to visit the workshops of Kunsthalle Wien, but also had the opportunity to speak directly with staff members and learn more about their diverse roles.
Afterwards, we visited the exhibition Radical Software: Women, Art & Computer 1960–1991, which highlighted the significant role women played in the history of computer technology and digital art – long before the era of the internet. In the Kunsthalle Wien Atelier, the participants had the opportunity to realise their own ideas in a creative workshop and produce woven works.
