This combined tour highlights the multi-layered dialogue between selected works from the collection of the Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien and the exhibition Potentialities by Richard Hawkins at Kunsthalle Wien. Starting with historical pictorial traditions – such as biblical representations, ancient sculpture and painterly models such as Caravaggio and Titian – connections are drawn to Hawkins’ contemporary practice. The tour opens up new perspectives on historical and contemporary works and invites visitors to engage in an in-depth examination of continuities and transformations.

With Daniel Uchtmann (KHM) and Andrea Hubin (Kunsthalle Wien)
