Ibrahim Mahama: Zilijifa
Curator's Tour through the exhibition Ibrahim Mahama: Zilijifa with Hannah Marynissen
Ibrahim Mahama (b. 1987, Tamale, Ghana) is known for his large-scale installations that explore themes of history, labour, migration and global capitalism challenging perceptions of value, space and the economic systems that shape everyday life. His work considers Ghana’s history via its material legacy. By collecting, preserving and creating access to objects, buildings and ephemera, his practice refers to histories that are inadequately documented.
The guided tour is free with a valid exhibition ticket.
