The lottery ticket as an admission ticket to Kunsthalle Wien! Experience an unforgettable day full of art, culture and inclusion at the Lotteries Day on Friday, 5 September at the MuseumsQuartier Wien. Present any product of the Austrian Lotteries at MQ Point to receive free admission tickets for Kunsthalle Wien, Leopold Museum and mumok.

Two exciting solo exhibitions by artists who are being shown in Austria for the first time await you at the Kunsthalle Wien.

At the centre of the exhibition Zilijifa by Ghanaian artist Ibrahim Mahama is an old diesel locomotive carried by 5,000 enamelled iron vessels stacked on top of each other. The exhibition explores the act of loading, carrying and unloading weight alongside a more abstract notion of the weight of history. Remnants of the railway, an industrial system for transport and trade, are combined with objects and images that refer to the physical act of bearing weight with the body.

The exhibition of French artist Nicola L., who died in 2018, is characterised by wit, playfulness and subversion. Variously celebrated in relation to pop art, nouveau réalisme, the applied arts and design, Nicola L.’s expansive practice addresses diverse subjects including cosmology, environmental concerns, spirituality, sexuality, activism and political resistance.
