Join Vina Yun on a tour through BURN & GLOOM! GLOW & MOON! Thousand Years of Troubled Genders. Gender Trouble on the Dancefloor: The dance floor as a utopian realm where bodies defined by society merge into a fluid desire - this is a tantalizing ideal and a real, if fleeting, experience. The glittering disco culture shaped by Queers and BIPoCs was in particular driven by a longing to transcend boundaries (of gender, race, sexuality, and class) and a promise of happiness for all. Disco Inferno - Hetero-Patriarchy burning!

Vina Yun is a freelance journalist, author and publicist based in Vienna. She writes about feminism/queer, postmigration, labor, (alternative) media, and pop culture.

My View is a program series in which experts, non-experts and interesting people are invited to present their personal view on the exhibition.
