Scrapbooking Workshop at Qwien (DE)
Richard Hawkins: Personal Obsessions with/in Archives
Richard Hawkins engages in intensive research on topics such as desire as well as individuals and their work. In doing so, he draws on archival material.
We invite you to a two-part event organised in cooperation with Qwien, the Association for Queer Culture and History in Vienna. On the first date, 19 March, we will meet at Richard Hawkins’ exhibition Potentialities for a guided tour by Andreas Brunner, founding member of Qwien.
The second part is a workshop at Qwien. After a tour of the archive, where we will be given exclusive access to various archival materials, we will create collages in the style of scrapbooks from Qwien’s magazine collection. At Qwien, we will have the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the magazine collection, scan parts of it, edit it on the computer and create scrapbooks using analogue materials provided.
We recommend attending both sessions. However, it is also possible to attend the sessions independently of each other.
