The Kunsthalle Wien invited sculptor Louise Bourgeois (b. 1911, Paris, – d. 2010, New York City), conceptual artist Jenny Holzer (b. 1950, Gallipolis, Ohio) and fashion designer Helmut Lang (b. 1956, Vienna) to realise a joint exhibition. The artists' histories, approaches, and disciplines are diverse. Their common denominator lies in their engagement with the body, its skin, the protective surfaces of vestimentary codes, and the field of human obsessions that determine identity and relationships between people.

In the exhibition, the artists' different approaches were condensed into a dense network of drawings, sculptures, installations, and texts. The less one can assume a predetermined common slogan, the more existential, open, and atmospheric a space becomes, in which the obsessions that take effect there activate the viewers' capacity for projection.
