Rebecca Horn

The works of internationally renowned artist Rebecca Horn (1944–2024) were exhibited in a comprehensive retrospective. All artistic fields and genres in which the artist had worked up to that point were represented: objects and relics from her earlier performances were on display alongside sculptures, installations and films. The focus was on a ten-year retrospective of Horn's sculptural work.

In her works, the artist analyses the physical and psychological, especially erotic, aspects of the world we live in. Ultimately, however, political content such as the fundamental power relations of the physical do not become anecdotal in her poetic-magical formal language, but are translated into vividness in a sensitive and at the same time radical way.

The exhibition was developed by the National Gallery Berlin and Kunsthalle Wien/Wiener Festwochen in collaboration with the Guggenheim Museum, New York.
