Beyond Battle
A Streetdance Event in Cooperation with kültüř gemma!

This year Beyond Battle really goes beyond the expected and brings us into the space of Kunsthalle Wien within the Lebt und arbeitet in Wien exhibition that features 56 Viennese artists. Beyond Battle is a competition where dancers face each other, showing their skills, musicality, creativity and expression to the music. Launched in 2025, the event now enters its third edition at Kunsthalle Wien.

As always, Beyond Battle isn’t just about competition – it is a gathering for connection, exchange and collective knowledge rooted in streetdance culture. As part of the kültüř gemma!-fellowship, we are honoured to activate Kunsthalle Wien. While the Battle does not take place in the exhibition space directly, it relates to the exhibition and draws inspiration from it. It becomes a conversation between music, movement and art. Within the spirit of the exhibition our Battle DJ Miyra Lim will provide the finest sound selection, focusing on Vienna based artists.

Breaking away from traditional gladiator-style battles you can expect unexpected formats, moments of free expression on the dancefloor and nourishing food for everyone. Join us in creating a space that values artistic exchange, curiosity and care.
