Circle Talks – The Community Round Table (DE/EN)
Gathering as a Practice of Care
Circle Talks is an open discussion and exchange format within the framework of the kültüř gemma!-fellowship by Viviane Lê Tanzmeister at Kunsthalle Wien.
Based on street dance and hip-hop cultures, in which gathering in a circle (cypher) is a central social and artistic practice, Circle Talks invites participants to experience gathering as a form of care, exchange and collective perception. Together we explore the premises of the Kunsthalle Wien and ask: Where do we come together? What spaces do we need? What does wellbeing mean in an institutional context?
Circle Talks is deliberately designed to be low-threshold: we sit together in a circle, take time to arrive, listen and exchange ideas. It’s not about performance, but about collective questioning and being together. Circle Talks will be rounded off with an open dance jam to hip-hop and house music – so come by to groove, shake, and exchange.
Schedule
- 17:00 Guided Tour of the exhibition Richard Hawkins: Potentialities
- 18:00 Circle Talks with snacks and drinks
- 19:00 Open Dance Jam
Everyone is invited – especially people from the street dance community and visitors who want to experience contemporary art as a social space. No prior knowledge required.
The event is free of charge.
