Circle Talks – The Community Round Table (DE/EN)
Gathering as a Practice of Care
Circle Talks is an open discussion and exchange format within the framework of the kültüř gemma!-fellowship by Viviane Lê Tanzmeister at Kunsthalle Wien.
Based on street dance and hip-hop cultures, in which gathering in a circle (cypher) is a central social and artistic practice, Circle Talks invites participants to experience gathering as a form of care, exchange and collective perception.
The first part of this Circle Talk opens the space for people from the streetdance scene to come together and exchange about the topic of battle. With Beyond Battle coming up on 28 May, we will exchange on the idea of what it means to battle against each other at events. What makes a battle great? What are we looking forward at events? Are events the spaces where we get to know each other and find time to exchange?
The second half of the Circle Talk will open up the space for the participants to propose a topic they are interested in. So bring your ideas and thought processes with you.
After the Circle Talk we will transition into a jam. Feel free to come for only the talk or the jam.
